…what is Code 95?
The Code 95 card opens the door to working in Europe!
Code 95 is a qualification that professional lorry and bus drivers working in the European Union must obtain to prove their professional competence. Code 95 is only valid in conjunction with a category C and C+E or D and D+E driving licence. It is a mark that is affixed to your driving licence or a separate card is issued to you after you have completed the training, indicating that you have completed the necessary training and comply with the EU’s commercial transport directives. This is a mandatory qualification for professional drivers in the EU, regardless of their nationality. So even if you have a C+E licence and several years’ driving experience, you cannot work in Europe without a Code 95 card!
…what is a tachograph card?
Driver cards, or tachograph cards, are key for lorry drivers and transport companies to operate within the EU, as they ensure compliance with tachograph regulations. Like a driving licence, a driver card is compulsory for certain vehicles and allows tracking of driving times, breaks and rest periods to improve road safety.

…how to get the Code 95 card?
To obtain a Code95 (CPC) card, you have to meet different requirements in each country (in some countries, e.g. Slovenia, the training takes only 4 days, while in Italy it takes several months), but once you have obtained the card, it is valid in all countries of the European Union! (For example, you can work in Austria or France with a card obtained in Slovenia. This rule also applies to the tachograph card.)
…where is it valid?
So, the Code95 card and the tachograph card are valid in all countries of the European Union, whatever country they were issued in. So whether you want to work in Germany, Belgium or Spain, the Code95 card you already have gives you the possibility to work in any country.
…for how long?
Both the Code95 card and the tachograph card are valid for 5 years, after which drivers must undergo training to maintain them.
